Gee, this sounds familiar.
That line about them being “not real people” is a strangely common and sociopathic thought process common with online trollers. It’s something you’d expect from a child or teenager, and something you’d hope to have died down once the internet and social media became commonplace in our culture, but alas, I see it persists. I yelled at an ex for the same thing once “They are just images on a screen.” she’d claim. I wouldn’t be surprised if the husband tried to claim “free speech”.
This new anonymity will keep doing nothing but harm if we dont educate people about conduct early, and stop letting channer culture and the dissmissive attitude of “its just the internet” dictate the behavior of people online.
…and no online site is going to accomplish this.

If you ever want evidence of what it is to operate in a police state; where suppression of journalists, squelching of public assembly and peaceful protest are shrugged off and or encouraged by “tyranny fearing” armed militiamen who help do it… this is American dystopia. The human rights nightmare that was bad enough the first time. Now its just obvious that nothing whatsoever has changed.
The police are not here to help you. At all. ever.
We need to hear from the Good Cops. Where are the Good Cops who are going to publicly stand up against this sort of thing?
